broccoli with garlic soy sauce. [http://community.livejournal.com/cheapvegan/663696.html] ingredients: 1 lb. broccoli 1 tbsp vegetable oil 3 garlic cloves, 1 crushed and 2 sliced 2 tbsp soy sauce or light soy sauce enough water in which to boil the broccoli salt instructions: 1.) Wash the broccoli, trim off the thick stems, and cut the bushy head into large florets. 2.) Add some salt [however much you want; I usually just pour some around the pot for about 1 or 2 seconds] to the water in a small pot and bring it to a boil. Add the broccoli and cook for 3 or 4 minutes, until crisp and tender. 3.) Drain the broccoli, pile it in a bowl, and keep it warm (or just microwave for a few seconds when you’re done). 4.) Heat the oil in the small pot. Fry the crushed garlic for 2 minutes to release the flavor, then remove the garlic. Add more oil if needed and fry the sliced garlic until it’s golden. Pour the hot oil and fried garlic slices over the broccoli. 5.) Drizzle the soy sauce over the broccoli, mix it all up, and you’re done!
